THE GLOBAL LIBRARY – OPEN ACCESS, A COLLABORATIVE HUB, AND AN INTELLECTUAL AND EMOTIONAL SANCTUARY
The Romanian Library Association (ABR), together with the "Transilvania" University of Brașov Library, the "George Barițiu" County Library, the Brașov Teaching Staff House (Casa Corpului Didactic Brașov), and their partners, are organizing the 36th edition of the ABR National Conference, titled "The Global Library – Open Access, a Collaborative Space, and an Intellectual and Emotional Refuge.”
Bringing together librarians and specialists from all types of libraries in Romania, alongside guests from the international academic and professional community, the conference aims to reflect on the role of libraries as global spaces for information, collaboration, inclusion, and community support.
The official opening will take place on September 2, 2026, at 9:00 AM, in the Aula Magna of the "Transilvania" University of Brașov. This will be preceded, on September 1, by an event organized by the main sponsor, Softlink Central Europe, with the theme "Three Decades Alongside Romanian Librarians – From Dialogue to Solutions: The Launch of the Libriverse Product Line."
Registration for the conference is done through the ABR Platform and is open until August 23, 2026. Details regarding the registration procedure and participation fees are available on the conference's official website.
