The Objectives of the Romanian Library Association (ABR)

 To promote all types of libraries in the country and to address the professional and scientific interests of librarians and other specialized personnel employed in libraries.

To develop, support, and stimulate the scientific and professional activities of its members by organizing conferences, meetings, sharing experiences and best practices, and by elaborating, translating, editing, and disseminating specialized publications, among other initiatives.

To develop inter-institutional relations and collaboration among librarians at both national and international levels.

To study the main scientific, technical, legislative, and organizational issues concerning libraries and their staff.
